The stories run right into each other with barely a different font for the heading of the next story. The cover is a pixelated, low-quality image. Kipling is among the greatest writers and story tellers. His stories are great for young people, bring tales to life with his words. The two missing stars are because the format does not include the sketches found in the original Kipling books.
This is a children's book that I enjoyed as a child and still enjoy as an adult.
I was looking for Rudyard Kipling's poem"If" which is not in this book. However this has to be one of Rudyard Kipling's finest children's stories book. From Wee Willie Winkee to Baa Baa Blacksheep. Great classic children stories!
Kipling was a master teller of tales. He often expressed them in verse. No one could tell of adventures in foreign lands as well as he, with the possible exception of Robert Louis Stevenson. Moreover, he wrote the wonderfully improbable description of origins of things in his "Just So Stories". And that, "Dearly Beloved", is the mystery and the truth.

"Kipling Stories and Poems Every Child Should Know, Book 11" by Rudyard Kipling, copyright of the first book was in 1891. This book is an excellent book for children and grown-ups. The first story pulled me into the book. The wonderful parents having to leave two adorable children with an Aunt and an Uncle that were themselves hedging on psychosis. Judy treated as if she was angel, and Wee Willie Winkie drove to severe mental disturbance, he was found to be almost blind and not even trusting his mother on her return, but changing back to a normal child after she returned providing him with love and affection. The complete book is excellent with fine writing that carries the reader into the realms of the Gods than taking them out to the sea where the building materials become very talkative. The bridge episode is quite interesting with the opium sleep episodes of weird dreams.
The book is excellent reading material for the young and for older people.
